A note about privacy
Privacy policies have a reputation for being long, complicated, and full of legal jargon. We don't think they should be.
wandr is supported by memberships, not advertising. That means we don't need to make money by tracking you, selling your information, or filling the platform with ads.
We do collect a small amount of information so your account works, your membership stays active, and the community remains secure. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.
What we collect
- Email address
- We use your email address so you can sign in, recover your account, and hear from us if something important happens with your membership.
- Username
- Your username is how other members recognize you.
- Password
- Your password is stored in encrypted form. We never store it as plain text.
- Profile information
- Things like your profile photo, biography, and any optional information you choose to share become part of your profile.
- Photos and stories
- We store the photos, stories, comments, and other posts you choose to share because that's what makes wandr work.
- Payment information
- Your membership is paid, so payment information is required to manage your subscription. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your complete payment details.
How we use your information
We use the information you share to:
- Provide your wandr account.
- Display your profile, photos, and stories to other members.
- Process and manage your subscription.
- Respond to support requests.
- Keep the platform secure and help prevent abuse.
- Meet our legal obligations when required.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information.
We don't build advertising profiles about our members.
We don't fill wandr with ads.
We don't use your photos or stories outside of wandr without your permission.
Your photos and stories
The photos and stories you share belong to you.
We only use them in the ways needed to operate wandr and make them available to the members you choose to share them with.
If we ever want to feature your work outside of wandr—whether in a book, magazine, marketing campaign, or anywhere else—we'll ask for your permission first.
Who we work with
We work with a small number of trusted companies to help operate wandr.
- Stripe processes subscription payments.
- Cloudflare helps keep the platform secure and reliable.
- SendGrid sends important account emails.
These companies only receive the information they need to provide their services.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account whenever you'd like.
When you do, your profile, photos, stories, and comments are removed from wandr.
We may keep limited information when required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.
Questions?
If anything in this policy isn't clear, we'd much rather answer your questions than hide behind legal language.

Cookies
wandr uses a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember your session, and help the web application work properly.
We don't use cookies to build advertising profiles or track you across other websites.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
If you'd like to make one of these requests, just contact us. We'll do our best to help and will respond as required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
As wandr grows, this Privacy Policy may change from time to time.
If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let members know when appropriate.
